​The Hemp Collections

 

The collections are made of cork fabric and Hmong hemp in northen Vietnam. Hemp fibers are turned into yarns by hand then are weaved on wooden loom and dyed from tea leaf, turmeric, red paper and indigo without chemicals.

EMPOWERING ARTISAN:  Green Cat promotes traditional hand woven fabrics of minority groups in Asia. One of our favorites is the Hmong hemp, a very unique material. We went to the villages in North Vietnam to develop fabrics and build close relationship with local artisans who are growing hemp, making yarn and keeping the traditional hemp weaving alive.  We consider this traditional textile used by Hmong people as the most environment-friendly fabric and it is a great material for creating sustainable and eco-friendly products.
